The Meadowview Farmers Guild • Located one hour from the Inn, The Meadowview Farmers’ Guild is a business devoted to local goods and community issues. “Our mission is to promote, feature and celebrate the agriculture and crafting traditions of our beautiful region. We feature a local-foods restaurant, The Harvest Table, and a General Store that carries food items and handmade goods from over 100 local craftspeople and artisans. We are located in a pair of renovated buildings on the old town square in Meadowview, VA. Drop by for a visit!”
We are located on Meadowview Square, in beautiful downtown Meadowview, Virginia! The Meadowview Farmers’ Guild general store specializes in food, crafts and goods from local and regional sources. We have over 130 artisans and crafters who supply us with a wide assortment of locally-made gifts and hand-made goods, perfect for any taste or budget. We can help with gift selections or assemble gift baskets to order for any occasion. Hours for the General Store are from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM Tuesdays, and 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM Wednesday through Saturday.
Books, CDs and Greeting Cards • We are proud to carry books written by local authors, Music CDs representing the creative talents of local musicians, and handcrafted greeting cards and card packets made by local artists. We also carry a selection of books on Small-scale gardening and Sustainable Lifestyle
Food Products • We stock local and regional food products, including fresh produce (in season), local free-range eggs, baked goods, jams and jellies, sauces, relishes, honey and molasses, gourmet Virginia peanuts, Route 11 chips, and locally roasted coffees.
Clothing • We carry a variety of clothing, both locally made and commercial goods. These include T-shirts made from 100% organic cotton in North Carolina, Pointer Brand Jeans and Overalls made in Bristol, and a variety of Farmers Guild logo-ware including T-shirts, sweatshirts, ball caps and jackets. We also have hand-made knitwear made by local crafters.
Gifts • Probably the largest single group of goods we carry would simply be categorized as gifts. We have a huge selection of handmade goods from this region including pottery, sculpture, ironwork, serving trays, candles, yarn made from sheep grown in our neighborhood, traditional crafts, brooms, and…well, you’ll just have to stop by and check it out!
Body Care Products • We carry a nice selection of Body Care products, and serve as the exclusive outlet for floral and herbal products from The Little Mountain Soap Company. These include salves, body washes, Balms, soaps, lotions, and soaking salts made from Saltville, VA mineral salts.
Toys and Gifts for Kids • We have a good selection of toys and gifts for kids. We carry handmade dolls, felted animals, childrens’ books, and handmade wooden toys including tops, yo-yos, puzzles, and even unpainted simple wooden block sets.
Jewelry • We have a selection of Jewelry hand made by artists in our region. These include a good selection of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other items
Needlecraft • We offer a wide selection of traditional needlecraft from our region. Items include quilts, wall hangings, aprons, crochet items, infant blankets, and purses
Baskets • We have a nice selection of both functional and decorative woven baskets, made right here in our region.
Woodcraft • Our woodcrafters fashion furniture, fine bowls, serving trays, napkin holders, letter openers, paper towel dispensers, stepstools, benches, birdhouses and feeders, and even handmade wooden pens.
